About Me
Hi! I'm Jasmine. I currently work in a DC Library, focusing on delivering transformative library experiences for youths and families in Washington DC's Historically Black Ward 7. I am also pursuing my MLIS and MBA at the University of Southern Mississippi. Previously, I worked in youth outreach, early literacy education, and social work. I like to think of librarianship as the best combination of all my passions.
Throughout my career, I have often seen firsthand the transformative power of literacy, community, and education. Libraries are safe spaces for learning and connection. I enjoy creating engaging learning environments for children and their families. I am a strong believer in the phrase "each one, teach one."

I created this blog to showcase some of the passion projects that I have worked on as a blooming librarian, including children's programming and library outreach initiatives. Please feel free to explore my blog for insights into each project, including additional resources for expanding the project, or the videos page, which is full of tutorials for engaging children and families in the library. Pleas use this blog as a resource for children's librarians, educators, and caregivers alike who are looking for ways to encourage literacy joy with the youths in their lives!
